Playing Catch up

Many things have come and gone and they have yet to be blogged.....But I am going to do my best to get caught up so that I can start of fresh again!

Since I last posted I have become a grandma, summer has come and gone The kids have started school, fall is almost over and soon it will be Christmas! Where do the days go?

I Became a GRANDMA! I am pretty sure the last post about this was a 20 week ultrasound picture. Well, February 2, 2010 at 12:41am my Daughter Katelin had our first granddaughter by c-section after quite the run around with a 67 hour labor. They named her Kinley Brianne Austin. She was 7 lbs 2 oz and 19 in long. It was a great experience.

Now that she is 9 months old she can hardly hold still for a second!
She is growing up too fast!
But that smile could get ice cream from any grandma before dinner!

I always worried when I had Kylee that she wouldn't have any brothers and sisters her age to play with, or help take care of. I was thrilled when I found out that Nick and Katelin had a girl! Kylee would have a "little sister" to play with! She loves playing with and helping babysit "kin kin" as she calls her!

This year for summer vacation we were all able to go to DISNEYLAND!
We had SO much fun!
We couldnt decide until the last moment if we were going to drive straight through from Provo to California or if we were going to stop half way through! However, Steve & Katelin ended up finding some great tickets to the Tuacahn Theater presentation of Tarzan down in St George Utah. So we decided that would be a fun place to stop for a couple day break!
The play was great! Everyone loved it!

The day after Tarzan we relaxed at the hotel and shopped at the outlets!
Then we were off to the Happiest place on earth and my personal favorite vacation spot EVER!
Disneyland here we come!

and watched some fun shows and parades.
Shared a few tender moments with each other

Most of all we just had fun being together as a family!
I think it is safe to say we had quite a bit of fun in the pool at the hotel swimming too!
On the way home we took a quick stop at the beach (sadly all our camera batteries were going dead so we only got a couple pictures)
It was a FANTASTIC trip!

The kids have all STARTED SCHOOL!
This year I officially have all my kids in school. From the oldest to the youngest.
Katelin is still studying Deaf studies, and Nick her husband is studying information systems business management at Utah Vally University.
Kynsie is studying graphic design at BYU.
Kendra and Tyler are both in high school. Kendra is the Jr class secretary and Tyler is the Freshman class president.
They are also both on the swim team. That means EARLY morning swim practices but so far its been fun to go see their meets. Swimming is a new sport in the Rife home as of this year!
Tanner is in 6th grade.
and Kylee is in her first year of kindergarten! Can you believe it?! I can't.


As always life is an adventure, and although It has been almost a year since I have blogged I am back, and hopefully I can stay on top of it! But hey, some is better than nothing right?!
